Toufic Araman Exhibits in Europe
It has been inspiring, and a little scary, to watch Toufic interest in photography germinate from a passion and blossom into a full-blown career since meeting at the first Gulf Photo Plus event around four years ago. It was just six months ago that Toufic left the security of his day job and took a photographic sabbatical in New York. Since then his courage has paid off and he has been kept very busy with his new commercial and food on table work produced at his Araman Studio.
While most of us complain we do not even have enough time to enter competitions, Toufic manages to pursue challenging personal projects alongside a busy commercial schedule.
Photography by its very nature is a solitary profession and Toufic enjoys being involved with forum style photography projects. Working with between 5 and 9 photographers, the participating artists brainstorm ideas and work together to communicate an idea or message. Currently Toufic is involved in a project that aims to summarize the social issues of chosen countries at a given point in time in a single image. A challenge indeed!
Toufics recent work will be shown at the Noorderlicht Festival in Holland opening 15th September. Also, later in November other work from same series will be shown at the Brecht Forum 'Censorship Show'.
